LANGUAGE ASSISTANTS IN OUR SCHOOL (2018-19)!

Since the beginning of October, we have had Coriann Hill-Gough, from England, and Emily Sayers, from Scotland with us. Last January Maddie Evans, from England too, joined us. They are with our students an hour every week to help them improve their spoken English. Coriann is in Pre-Primary and Primary and Emily and Maddie are with our ESO and Batxillerat students. These are their thoughts about their experience here.

‘I have really enjoyed my time so far at St Josep school working with the students and teachers in Primary and Pre-Primary. Everybody has been very welcoming and the students have been participating very well in the speaking classes.’ Coriann

‘I came to St Josep as I wanted to gain some hands-on teaching experience and I have got more out of it than I ever expected. It has been so rewarding working with students helping them to improve their English and I love that I am making a difference to their English careers.´ Emily

´Despite starting my time at St Josep later than the other speakers, I have felt so welcomed and accepted into the school by both teachers and students. I have really enjoyed getting to know the students and they have been amazing in my English speaking lessons. It has been a very rewarding experience for me.´ Maddie

Our experiences

Last Friday 31st May was our speakers’ last day. That’s what they think about their experience at school. Both speakers and students have been really happy for this experience!

Being the new speaker arriving late to the programme in January was very scary for me, but the amazing English teachers and students here at Sant Josep made the nerves go away instantly. I have enjoyed my time here so much and I cannot thank everyone enough for being so lovely and welcoming. I have worked with students from both ESO and Batxillerat, and they have all been a pleasure to teach and made me laugh and smile everyday! This year has given me new friends and family that I will never forget and I am so thankful to everyone I have met over the past months that have made this experience truly unforgettable! Maddie

I loved my time here at Sant Josep! I have met lots of lovely people and will cherish this experience forever. It has been so rewarding helping students with their English and hopefully they will have developed my beautiful Scottish accent! ‘No es adios, es hasta luego’ Emily

The teachers and students at Sant Josep school are like my second family. They welcomed me in with open arms and they have been there for me since the very beginning, with smiley faces and big hugs. The memories I have made here are unforgettable, along with the people I have met. I have loved every second! I will miss all the pre-primary and primary students I have worked with and wish them the best of luck in the future. I would also like to thank all the teachers. You have made this experience, an experience I will never forget! Coriann
